Microsoft Advertised Xbox with a Billboard of Epic Proportions on Earth
Microsoft has commandeered the LED display of Las Vegas' massive Sphere arena to present a captivating Xbox-themed light exhibition that completely overshadowed the city skyline.
Ever since its inaugural performance in July, the Las Vegas Sphere has been responsible for numerous viral events, including its breathtaking illumination of the 580,000 square foot 'Exosphere.' This colossal digital display has continually treated the residents of the Nevada metropolis to a wide array of awe-inspiring and, at times, irksome spectacles.
Among the array of visual presentations, the Sphere has featured a foreboding pumpkin, a breathtaking fireworks display, a basketball spectacle, and notably, an expansive and somewhat eerie human eye. Internally, the arena can accommodate nearly 20,000 individuals and is designed for hosting live musical performances and high-impact audiovisual exhibitions.
Recently, Microsoft joined the ranks of companies leveraging the Sphere's extraordinary advertising potential by orchestrating an Xbox promotional extravaganza of monumental proportions. This event showcased a diverse lineup of existing and upcoming first and third-party gaming titles, as well as their Series X|S gaming consoles. Notable features on the Exosphere display included Starfield, Forza Motorsport, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, and CD Projekt’s Cyberpunk 2077.
The dazzling light show came in the wake of Microsoft's tumultuous but ultimately victorious acquisition of Activision Blizzard. This acquisition followed an extended legal battle with the UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), which had initially attempted to prevent the deal, expressing concerns that it might negatively impact competition in the realm of cloud gaming.
