Metal Gear Solid Fans Discover Further Clues Pointing to Potential MGS 4 Remaster and Beyond

Following a previous leak that appeared to validate the eventual inclusion of Metal Gear Solid 4 in the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection, fresh evidence of a remastered version of the cherished PS3 classic has surfaced, suggesting further developments in the pipeline.

Shared by a Reddit user named Timo653, images depicting code allegedly extracted from the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection launcher suggest that Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, and potentially even Metal Gear Solid 5 are slated for future inclusion.

Gaming publication IGN has undertaken a thorough examination of the code and can indeed verify the authenticity of the references.

This revelation has ignited a wave of enthusiasm among fans, particularly due to Metal Gear Solid 4's exclusive availability on the now-defunct PlayStation 3. Launched in 2008, the game marked the conclusion of Solid Snake's saga while intricately weaving into the narrative of Big Boss. It holds a special place in the hearts of both fans and critics.

Although it was initially promoted as the ultimate installment in the series, creator Hideo Kojima would eventually revisit the franchise with Metal Gear Solid 5.

This leak comes on the heels of an earlier discovery of placeholders for Metal Gear Solid 4, Peace Walker, and Metal Gear Solid 5 on the official website. IGN had previously confirmed the accuracy of the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 lineup.

When Metal Gear Solid Vol. 2 eventually hits the market, one can only hope for a more prosperous reception compared to Volume 1. The PC iteration faced criticism for its 720p resolution, which contradicted the promised 1080p output for Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3. Meanwhile, the Switch version presented its own set of issues by not including all collection games on the cartridge, requiring players to download Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, and 3 separately.
