Resident Evil 2 Remake Launches on iPhone and Mac in December

The Resident Evil 2 remake is set to release on Apple iPhone, iPad, and Mac on December 31, with publisher Capcom offering players a free trial before committing to the full purchase.

Originally announced alongside the Apple version of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard in June, Capcom shared further details about the port through a Japanese press release translated by Siliconera. While the release date wasn’t explicitly mentioned there, updates on the Apple App Stores confirmed the December 31 launch.

"A limited portion of the base game can be played for free," according to the App Store listing. "To access the full game, an in-app purchase is required."

Resident Evil 2 will be playable on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, and future Apple devices, as well as silicon-powered iPads and Macs. Purchasing the game on any of these platforms unlocks access across all compatible Apple devices.

While touch controls are available, the listing recommends using a controller for the best experience, particularly on iPad, as it will enhance gameplay.
