Every Game Enhanced for the PS5 Pro
After much speculation and leaks, Sony has officially unveiled the PS5 Pro, showcasing its enhancements in a brief nine-minute presentation. The PS5 Pro promises improved GPU performance, advanced ray-tracing, and AI-powered upscaling, aiming to deliver both high performance and fidelity modes simultaneously. Here’s a look at the games that will be enhanced for the PS5 Pro, offering higher-resolution visuals and smoother 60fps gameplay:
Alan Wake 2
With Remedy’s advanced Northlight engine, Alan Wake 2 was already one of the top visual experiences on PS5. The PS5 Pro aims to elevate this further, enhancing atmospheric lighting effects in the game’s New York City-like Dark Place.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Ubisoft's Anvil engine for Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been upgraded, and the PS5 Pro should allow for a sprawling open world at 4K resolution and high frame rates, preserving details like cherry blossoms and tree pollen. A steady 60fps will also sharpen combat.
Demon’s Souls
This 2020 launch title remains visually stunning on PS5, offering a Cinematic mode at 4K 30fps and a Performance mode at 1440p 60fps. The PS5 Pro might allow players to enjoy the full graphical fidelity of Cinematic mode at 60fps.
Dragon’s Dogma 2
Initially criticized for performance issues, Dragon’s Dogma 2 may see its framerate improved to 60fps on the PS5 Pro, with hopes for 4K resolution to fully showcase the detail rendered by the RE Engine.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
This 2024 title struggled with performance, often locked at 30fps, with a shift from fidelity to performance mode resulting in blurry visuals. The PS5 Pro upgrade could enhance the game’s beautiful world and characters.
Gran Turismo 7
Already impressive on PS5 with 60fps, Gran Turismo 7 will focus on ray tracing on the PS5 Pro, enhancing reflections between cars on the track.
Hogwarts Legacy
The game highlights the PS5 Pro’s improved ray-tracing capabilities, featuring more reflections and realistic shadows, especially in detailed environments like the Great Hall and the Great Lake.
While the specific enhancements mostly highlight first-party Sony titles, the PS5 Pro’s capabilities promise significant upgrades for a variety of games at launch.
