Assassin's Creed Shadows Pushed to February 2025
Ubisoft has delayed Assassin's Creed Shadows by three months, moving its release from November 12, 2024, to February 14, 2025.
The company cited the need for more time to "polish and refine the experience" as the reason for the delay. Ubisoft also confirmed the game will launch on Steam from day one, a shift from its previous strategy with Star Wars Outlaws. Preorders will be refunded, and all new preorders will include the first expansion for free, breaking away from the usual season pass model.
Ubisoft explained that while Assassin's Creed Shadows is "feature complete," additional polishing was inspired by the lessons learned from Star Wars Outlaws, which had a "softer than expected launch." The delay will add €20 million ($22.2 million) to Ubisoft’s costs, further challenging the company as it faces scrutiny from investors after disappointing financial performance.
